Skye Quilters

When we moved to Skye I joined the Skye Quilters Patchwork & Quilting Group. 3 years later I was asked to to run the group when Pat the leader decided she wanted to retire from leading the group.
Since then we have become a community group and received a Lottery Grant of £5,000. This money was used to pay for professional quilters to visit Skye and run workshops as well as to hold our first exhibition in 2008. Since then we held our second in 2010. Our next exhibition will be held in 2012. Go to Skye Quilters website to see what we get up to.

City & Guilds
In 2006 I completed the City & Guilds Patchwork & Quilting qualification.

Quilting History
I have submitted a number of quilts to different competitions which have been shown at a number of shows: Loch Lomond Quilt Show: Sandown; Malvern; Exeter; Ardingly and Ingleston. I received a Judges Merit at Sandown in 2009 and a 2nd prize in the Purely Patchwork competition in 2010.
Susan Briscoe used one of my kaleidoscope quilts in her book '200 Quilting Tips, Techniques & Trade Secrets' to demonstrate fussy cutting techniques.

Quilters Guild
I am also a member of the Quilters Guild, being part of Region 16 (Scotland). Many of the Region 16 activities are held in Inverness but despite being 3.5 hours drive away I do manage to get to some of them.
